At the heart of the look is a bold three-camera setup on a single dolly. The middle lens delivers a long zoom, while two wider primes flank it, creating a three‑part frame that can widen to reveal sensing and then tighten around what he notices. The team calls this the sensory grande approach, a deliberate shift from traditional coverage to something more immersive.
Hillary Fyfe Spera, the show’s director of photography, describes her long involvement with Born Again and the collaborative push to define its look. She explains that the on‑set rig and subsequent post‑production tweaks were essential to realizing the effect, and she admits it challenged her expectations in the best possible way.
“Later, we created this effect where the whole world becomes wider in aspect ratio and then shrinks down to really target in on what Daredevil is sensing. It felt like a breakthrough, a true signature of the show,” Spera says.
