Nadia Farès, French Actress Known for The Crimson Rivers, Dies at 57
Nadia Farès, the French performer famed for her work in The Crimson Rivers, has died at the age of 57.
Farès was found unconscious in a Paris swimming pool last week and had been in a coma after suffering a cardiac arrest, according to her daughters and AFP.
Her daughters Cylia and Shana Chasman released a statement, saying France has lost a great artist and, for them, a mother they mourn deeply.
Her screen career began in 1990 with a single television appearance in Navarro, followed by her feature debut in My Wife’s Girlfriends two years later. She went on to appear in Tell Me Yes… (1995), The Crimson Rivers (2000), War (2007), Marseille (2016–2018), Luther (2021) and Toujours possible (2025), among other credits.
In 2002 she married producer Steve Chasman and stepped back from acting in 2009 when the couple moved to the United States. In a Gala profile earlier this year, she spoke about developing an action-comedy with Studios TF1 and her plans to direct and write again.
Farès is survived by her daughters, Cylia and Shana.
