Hokum Headed for Home Viewing This June, with Blu-ray, 4K, and Extras

Hokum is coming to home screens this summer, with digital rental or purchase available starting June 2, 2026. A Blu-ray/4K Ultra HD combo and a DVD edition follow on August 11, 2026.

Adam Scott in Hokum

Adam Scott stars as Ohm Bauman, a novelist visiting a remote Irish inn to scatter his parents’ ashes. The place quickly reveals a darker history—a haunting presided over by a witch—pulling Bauman into memories he hoped to leave behind.

Critics are calling Hokum one of the year’s standout fright flicks, a precise blend of dread and intimacy that works just as well on a living-room screen as in a theater.

From McCarthy’s ongoing horror lineup

Hokum marks the third feature from director Damian McCarthy, following Caveat (2020) and Oddity (2024). Both previous titles were shot in a converted West Cork barn, and the three are said to inhabit a shared universe. You don’t need to see the earlier films to enjoy Hokum, but fans may appreciate the connective thread. Caveat is streaming free on Tubi, and Oddity is available on Hulu.

What you get with the home release

  • A making-of documentary that goes behind the scenes
  • A feature commentary with McCarthy
  • The original teaser and full trailer
  • A short titled “Jack the Donkey, A Family Favorite,” centered on the world’s resident children’s TV host within Hokum

Set aside a night for a proper scare-a-thon with Hokum’s home debut, and know that more material is planned for fans who crave even more chills.
