Olivia Colman and John Lithgow headline a tender queer family drama opening Kashish Pride in Mumbai this June. The festival’s 17th edition will feature 153 films from 43 countries across three venues: Liberty Cinema, Alliance Française, and the National Gallery of Modern Art.
The film Jimpa centers on Hannah, played by Colman, who travels with her non-binary teenager, Aud Mason-Hyde, to Amsterdam to reconnect with her gay father Jimpa, played by Lithgow. The drama explores queer joy and reconciliation within a family navigating difference.
Directed with an emphasis on intimate performances, the feature invites audiences into a story about love, identity, and belonging as generations collide and converge.
Kashish’s program this year highlights international voices and inclusive storytelling, with Jimpa positioned as a centerpiece of the festival’s lineup.
