Bryan Singer television revival
Bryan Singer began courting a Fox TV revival envisioned as a direct continuation of the classic series. A test animation debuted at San Diego Comic‑Con in 2001, with production inching toward a pilot before plans were halted. The 9/11 attacks sharpened concerns about mirroring real‑world events, and Singer redirected his attention to other projects while Moore’s reboot moved forward in another form.
Bryan Singer movie revival
A separate film reboot surfaced with Singer attached, this time as a feature rather than a series.
