The Spaceballs sequel has a release window. Amazon MGM Studios announced on Friday that the follow-up to the 1987 sci‑fi spoof will reach theaters on April 23, 2027.
Original talent Mel Brooks, Rick Moranis, Daphne Zuniga, Bill Pullman and George Wyner are confirmed to reprise their roles. Joining the cast are Josh Gad, KeKe Palmer, Lewis Pullman and Anthony Carrigan, expanding the lineup as the project moves forward.
Josh Greenbaum is directing the comedy from a script by Gad, Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez. Producers include Brian Grazer, Ron Howard and Jeb Brody for Imagine Entertainment, along with Gad, Brooks, Greenbaum and Kevin Salter.
Plot specifics and the film’s official title remain under wraps. Gad teased the project last year on social media, calling it “the funniest and best thing” he’s worked on and sharing excitement about collaborating with Samit and Hernandez. He later posted that the date “April 23, 2027” is a guiding beacon for the project.
