Fans call for a permanent One Piece showcase at Universal Studios after Fan Fest Nights 2026

Universal Studios Hollywood’s Fan Fest Nights 2026 offered a wide slate of pop-culture experiences, from a revived Jurassic Park walk-through to a Sailor Moon short and a Dungeons & Dragons setup. Yet the loudest cheer came from a live, pirate-packed spectacle based on One Piece.

Live show dominates Fan Fest Nights

The new stunt show, staged in the former WaterWorld arena, turned into an action-packed pirate odyssey featuring the Straw Hat crew. Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji sailed onto the scene aboard boats, weaving through a course of aerial zip-lines and pyrotechnics. The cast even included surprise appearances like Tony Tony Chopper, igniting the arena with fan excitement. The live-action sequence wowed crowds and became the night’s standout moment.

Alongside the show, Universal rolled out a themed dining experience, rebranding a restaurant as “Sanji’s Galley” and serving One Piece-inspired dishes such as Luffy’s meat platter and Sanji’s spicy chicken katsu. The experience extended beyond the stage with exclusive merchandise and cosplay energy among guests.

Fan Fest Nights 2026 jam-packed the park with exclusive experiences across multiple franchises: a Scooby-Doo/Universal Monsters crossover, a Jurassic Park walkthrough, a sprawling D&D setup, a Sailor Moon animation short, and updates to both Super Nintendo World and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Still, the One Piece spectacle dominated discussions among attendees and observers alike.

As conversations focus on WaterWorld’s future, some observers argue that One Piece could be a smarter long-term centerpiece for the park’s lineup. The combination of a well-known live-action property and a built-in international fanbase makes a strong case for a permanent integration, replacing the current WaterWorld presentation in the long run.

Fan Fest Nights 2026 runs on select evenings from April 23 to May 16, highlighting Universal’s push to test the waters with cross-franchise engagement and new immersive experiences.
