Two Nigerian outfits are joining forces to bring the Afrobeats feature Evi to life. Judith Audu Productions and Switch Visuals Productions have kicked into production, with Uyoyou Adia handling the writing and direction.

The project is slated for a Q2 2026 release and centers on Evi-Oghene Donalds, a talented yet arrogant music star whose career unravels after her label parts ways with her without compensation. With the support of a loyal best friend and a troubled manager, she fights to reclaim her voice and rebuild her identity.

Producers on the project include Damilola Osikoya, Uyoyou Adia and Judith Audu. The collaboration is backed by CCHUB in partnership with Africa No Filter and is supported by the Gates Foundation.

Deadline notes that this is the second collaboration between JAP and Switch Visuals following Hustle, with plans to broaden their alliance in 2026. Adia’s writing and direction are described as a bold foray into Nollywood storytelling, exploring resilience, representation and female empowerment in the music world.

Judith Audu Productions traces its roots to Just Not Married, which screened at TIFF and earned festival accolades. Switch Visuals, led by Damilola Osikoya, has built a reputation for luxury‑leaning music videos and features, including 2025’s A Weekend Fiasco, starring Ini Edo, Alex Ekubo and Odunlade Adekola.

In a joint statement, Audu framed Evi as a project aimed at celebrating women who refuse to shrink themselves, while Osikoya and Adia described a story that travels beyond borders with themes of truth, resilience and second chances.
