Goldfinch and The Squad have rolled out enGEN3, a platform built around artificial intelligence to help independent creators craft expansive cinematic universes while managing IP rights and fan‑driven revenue sharing.
Its goal is to democratize a suite of tools once reserved for major studios, enabling writers and filmmakers to map interconnected narratives across film, games and other media, with ownership and monetization built into the workflow.
The inaugural project on enGEN3 is a sci‑fi anime pilot called By Blood & By Bone, which weaves two Web3 NFT worlds—Ordinauts on Bitcoin and Oni Force on Ethereum—into a new, community‑driven storytelling model.
“enGEN3 gives filmmakers studio‑level tools to build cinematic universes with fan participation, extending their stories across film, games, print and beyond,” said Jordan Bayne, founder of The Squad and enGEN3. The partners describe a shared approach to IP and monetization that benefits both creators and fans, with more projects and features planned for 2026.
The venture also showcases a seasoned team, including CTO Doug Thompson, who has led roles at gaming and AI companies, and creative director HaZ Dulull, known for work with Disney+ and for contributions to games such as Dune: Awakening and Fortnite. Goldfinch’s Phil McKenzie calls enGEN3 the next step in the Film3 concept, merging creation, distribution and audience participation under one umbrella.
A full launch is targeted for the first quarter of 2026, following a beta window and a slate of additional projects drawn from Goldfinch’s financed productions.
- First project: By Blood & By Bone, a sci‑fi anime pilot that connects Ordinauts and Oni Force
- AI tooling paired with IP management and fan‑driven revenue sharing
- Beta access ahead of the 2026 rollout and ongoing project expansion
The collaboration is pitched as a new model for creators to expand stories across formats while sharing ownership with their audiences.
