Angel City Heads to Cannes Market with Braham Entertainment

Braham Entertainment is taking Noel Braham’s feature debut to the Cannes Market this year, presenting Angel City as its breakout project. The film marks Braham’s hands‑on role as writer, director and producer, and he stars opposite Chris Kattan, Tonya Pinkins, Dwight Hicks, and Kim Estes.

The ensemble also includes Stakiah Lynn Washington, Helen Madelyn Kim, Roxanne Beckford, and Bria Samoné Henderson in supporting roles. The story follows a second-generation immigrant rideshare driver who pursues acting while grappling with housing insecurity as he chases a dream that could outpace him.

Angel City grows from Braham’s short Watchtower, which earned two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Special Class Film and Directing.

Braham’s own move to Los Angeles in 2013—living in hostels and even in his car—shaped the film’s lived-in look at ambition and sacrifice. He is also the founder of the Micheaux Film Festival.

In a statement, Braham emphasizes that the project aims to lift the veil on a side of L.A. that many people never see, telling a story about chasing a dream at a personal cost that resonates with artists and non‑artists alike.
