Travolta Takes the Helm at Cannes with Propeller One-Way Night Coach

John Travolta steps into the director’s chair for Propeller One-Way Night Coach, a feature set to world‑premiere in the Cannes Premiere program ahead of its Apple TV debut later this spring.

The project is an adaptation of a 1997 book that Travolta wrote and illustrated, drawing on his lifelong fascination with aviation.

Cannes has not yet announced a specific screening date. The festival describes the story as following Jeff, a young aviation enthusiast, and his mother as their cross‑country journey evolves into a life‑defining adventure, complete with travel detours, memorable characters, and glimpses of first class luxury.

Clark Shotwell stars as Jeff, with Kelly Eviston‑Quinnett as his mother, while Ella Bleu Travolta and Olga Hoffmann appear as flight attendants. Produced by Travolta’s JTP Films in collaboration with Kids at Play, the project counts Travolta, Jason Berger, and Amy Laslett among its producers. The Cannes premiere at the Debussy Theatre will lead into the global Apple TV release on May 29.

Travolta’s aviation pedigree gets a nod in Cannes’ notes, which highlight his credentials as a pilot with thousands of flight hours across multiple aircraft, including on projects that featured the Airbus A380.
