Madgic Distribution, the Paris-based kids’ content outfit, kicked off its MipJunior run with the sale of an upcoming animated series, Emerald. Buyers spanning Knowledge Canada, Mediacorp Singapore and Noga Israel have picked up the show for their markets.
Emerald is an 18 x 11‑minute animated series, complemented by a 22‑minute special, produced by Kelebek Media for Sky Kids UK. The project marks Madgic’s first major slate debut at the market.
The series centers on Emerald, a mermaid whose life shifts when her mother marries the Sun King, making her a princess. She navigates a blended family—complete with a step‑sister—while friends Theodore the Sea Unicorn and Shelly the Sea Turtle provide comic relief.
Adapted from Harriet Muncaster’s best‑selling Isadora Moon books, Emerald sits alongside Sky Kids UK’s 2D slate as a companion property to Isadora Moon. Madgic Distribution holds worldwide distribution rights for Emerald, excluding the U.K., U.S. and Italy.
Lionel Marty, Madgic’s managing director, says the warm reception for Muncaster’s world confirms the title’s international appeal and sets the stage for further collaborations during Mipcom.
Across its growing portfolio, Madgic Group blends animation with live‑action projects and in‑house production capabilities. The company’s roster includes titles like Jade Armor and Angelo Rules, under its production banner 2 Minutes, alongside its animation studios and distribution networks.
